We are looking for a highly motivated Analyst to join our Investment Administration team


As a key member of our Investment Administration team, you will support the ongoing operation and administration of the Investment program.

The role will involve liaising regularly with various external and internal parties, including clients, custodians and administrators, auditors, investment operation, corporate finance, cash management, legal, investment front office and others.


Responsibilities:

  • Processing of Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Global Credit, Real Estate, Infrastructure, External Manager custody, carried interest, performance and management fees including fee accruals and invoice preparation.
  • Prepare and review fee calculations including custody fees, performance and management fees. Prepare fee allocation reports for invoice processing and client deliverables.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly clients' deliverables including the reporting of accruals, AUM, hedging notional and commitments. Perform periodic External Manager Fees reconciliation, variance analysis and ad hoc reporting.
  • Understand and follow corporate procedures and financial accounting standards. Ensure that there is accurate recording of costrelated activities in the appropriate journals and ledgers.
  • Support monitoring the compliance of investment managers against prescribed guidelines, investigate deviations from standard with external investment managers and internal portfolio managers, determine the causes and escalate to management as required.
  • Support internal and other audits of the investment function including the provision of information to auditors as required.
  • Champion and lead innovation to achieve process efficiency.
  • Provide excellent customer service to existing clients and business partners and deliver timely and accurate information reporting.
  • Meet internal and external clients service levels as outlined in their IMAs. SLA
  • Assisting in the execution of documents and administrative requests related to client accounts and pooled fund investments.
  • Engage in team projects to support delivery as per IMCO direction and ensure individual goals and milestones are met to support corporate objectives.
  • Question status quo and champion change to create process improvements and streamline tasks and activities across teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What do you need to succeed?- A university degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related discipline is required.- Relevant professional designations (CPA, CFA, CBV and/or AACI designation) is an asset.- Minimum 1 year of experience in Investment Administration or Investment Operations.

Previous experience in fund accounting is considered an asset.- Understanding of accounting standards (IFRS, Pension accounting) and best practices is an asset; experienced in preparing general ledgers.- Experience in preparing accounting and reporting functions with daily and monthly deliverables.- Working knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Access, Word, etc.).

Superior analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills are required to identify and recommend potential opportunities, coordinating and maintaining up to date information on budget and cost analysis.- Self-Starter: Willingness to challenge the status quo- Ability to consistently deliver quality outputs in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to work to tight deadlines and the capability to handle multiple projects and ad-hoc requests simultaneously.- Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and compelling manner and present information to internal/external stakeholders.
