  • Job Description:_


The position is responsible for the efficient management and support in operation of the investigation, negotiation and conclusion of claims for and against the organization, as well as assisting in the administration of the Company's Insurance, Legal and Administrative functions.


  • Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:_
  • Collect, review and analyze claims information; determine which claims are acceptable and ensure notification to appropriate insurer.
  • Maintain internal claims spreadsheet with day to day follow up diary.
  • Create and organize claim file folders.
  • Act as liaison with various facilities as well as with external service providers such as adjuster, defense attorney and consultant during the entire handling of the claim.
  • Participate in quarterly claims review with insurance carrier (includes handling adjusters, distribution/plant managers, regional presidents, area vice presidents, human resources business partners, and Operations team).
  • Plan, coordinate and assist in the administration of the renewal of Property, Automobile, General Liability, U.S. Workers' Compensation, Boiler and Machinery, Management Liability and Employment Practices Liability insurance policies.
  • Provide all claim kits, renewal certificates and auto ID cards to various business units
  • Assist local facilities' customers and suppliers with Certificate of Insurance and Endorsement requests.
  • Arranging claims calls or discussions.
  • May assist in the training/orientation of summer students.

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A Canadian Risk Management (CRM) would be considered an asset or willingness to complete a CRM designation within two years
  • Thorough knowledge of the claims management processes, including principles, practices and techniques in investigating and adjusting a wide variety of liability claims and acquiring information and evidence for legal action would be considered an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify relationships, problems and issues
  • Ability to work as collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently
