Job Summary

The Indigenous Patient Site Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the Indigenous Health Services program on site. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating health services for Indigenous patients and participating in WRHA Indigenous Health Programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate health services for Indigenous patients, ensuring seamless delivery of care.
  • Collaborate with WRHA Indigenous Health Programs to develop and implement effective health services strategies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to healthcare teams, promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to advance Indigenous health outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve health services delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a relevant social science discipline.
  • Minimum of three years supervisory/administrative experience in healthcare, preferably working with Indigenous communities.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and related software applications.
  • Familiarity with services of government departments and agencies assisting Indigenous people.
  • Understanding of Indigenous culture and its relevance to healthcare delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a passion for promoting Indigenous health equity.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
