Our main markets are food and recycling industries, with a high presence in the fish industry. We constantly strive to improve the design of our containers for better handling and increased safety, thereby raising the value of our customer ́s products.
Job OverviewReporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor provides leadership, coaching, guidance, and direction to the operational (production & maintenance) teams. The Production Supervisor leads staff and manages manufacturing processes to ensure high standards are met for safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Supervise, direct and guide employees to help them achieve their maximum level of effectiveness; identifies and meets team needs for job training, health and safety and environmental standards.
- Ensure that all employees work in accordance with the OH&S standards, policies, and procedures of the company and with all applicable laws.
- Meet daily and weekly production targets, adhere to production schedules, facilitate 5S+1 Housekeeping, and ensure facility equipment is maintained up to company standards.
- Facilitate and promote Continuous Improvement (CI) projects with team.
- Identify, recommend and/or implement changes to improve production procedures, equipment performance, working conditions and product quality.
- Work on a rotating 8-hour shift schedule (12-hour schedule as required) and organize & manage vacations, floaters & absences on shift.
- Complete daily shift reports, conduct shift change meetings, complete hazard, near miss and incident reports.
- Work with other departments to ensure that company goals and objectives as well as internal and external customer expectations are met.
- 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree, technical diploma, or related industry experience.
- Knowledge of OHSA and commitment to safety.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient with MS software programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
- Strong leadership, organization, time management and change management skills.
- A self-driven individual who will work towards building and maintaining a strong safety and engaged workplace culture.
