Support Worker in a Child Care Facility

We are a French preschool, after school, looking for an Inclusion Worker for children with extra support needs.


The Inclusion Worker will assist in building an inclusive and welcoming environment for children of all abilities, and specifically provide extra support to an INDIVIDUAL CHILD.

This may include personal care, lifting/transfers, and behavioral support.

Role:

  • Support the student when they display unexpected behavior and role model positive behaviours
  • Foster positive interactions between the children and their peers and help navigate conflict.
  • Implement individualized programs and activities while focusing on building independence
  • Ability to run after a student to avert them from danger

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a teamsetting.
  • Ability to facilitate, implement, and modify programs for children with different abilities.
  • Knowledge and experience working with special needs children.
  • Experience working in a childcare facility.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques
  • Valid First Aid certification.
  • French an asset but not mandatory

Hours of Work & Salary:

.Full time from Monday to Friday.
- $26 per hour

Pay:
$25.00-$26.00 per hour
