Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Director, Coastal Community of Care to join the team at the Sechelt Hospital.

Reporting to the Vice President, Coastal CoC, the Director, Coastal Community of Care (CcC) works in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and designated Coastal Medical Directors. The Director is accountable for the overall operational management and strategic direction for designated clinical areas. The Director represents the CcC at regional tables, working closely and collaboratively with the rural areas in the CcC, specifically in designated and other clinical areas. They establish the operational framework and infrastructure needed to support service delivery and allocates and manages all human and financial resources in their portfolio. As well, provides strategic support in enabling "Home First" and access and flow strategies, leveraging clinical and business tools to support the subjective. The Director inspires and leads their team to ensure that the strategic objectives and operational plans are carried out to provide a seamless, efficient, and effective delivery of services within a patient/client centered environment. The Director is values-based and ensures that services are provided in keeping with the vision, values, and strategic directions of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH).

As a Director, Coastal Community of Care with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

Provide Develops policies and strategies that ensure integrated and sustainable programs and services consistent with established priorities and the vision, values, and strategic direction of the organization. Enable an operational framework for staffing and care delivery approaches through collaborative partnerships that supports patient safety, best practices, improved patient access, and efficient flow of patients across the continuum and across VCH. Develop and successfully manages capital and operating budgets that complement strategic directions within existing fiscal constraints and facilitate the attainment of community needs. Provide overall leadership and direction for operational staff that supports the achievement of required outcomes and ensures adherence to accreditation, regulatory, professional, safety standards, and the VCH Balanced Scorecard. Establish an effective workforce plan in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders that ensures the ongoing availability of qualified and technically competent staff within the context of operational demands and environmental and resource constraints. Ensure clear performance objectives and indicators are in place to assess the delivery of services within an interdisciplinary and multi-site environment. Create a collaborative workplace environment that encourages employees to realize their maximum potential, fosters personal growth and promotes a sense of community, autonomy, and decision-making at the point of care and service. Foster strategic and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders that result in sharing of knowledge, monitoring of trends, identification of opportunities to promote innovation, exploration, and partnerships for improvement, and ensuring consistent delivery of quality services throughout the organization. Ensure compliance with legislation and safety standards to provide a healthy and safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Master's degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or related master's degree, with more than eight (8) years' recent, related experience in a progressively more senior management/leadership role within a large health care setting, including direct supervisory experience.

Uses sound business acumen to manage the fiscal resources of assigned programs/services in a manner that is financially responsible and consistent with the overall goals of the organization.
