The Clinical Epidemiology Program (CEP) has an immediate opening for a Research Administrative Assistant II responsible for:

  • Providing a broad range of clerical and administrative support duties for CEP members. Predominantly focusing on the Centre for Implementation Research (CIR), the incumbent will be expected to provide support to Drs. Justin Presseau (Senior Scientist, Clinical Epidemiology Program, CIR Member) and Jeremy Grimshaw (Senior Scientist, Clinical Epidemiology Program, CIR Member) at the Centre for Practice-Changing Research located at the General Campus of The Ottawa Hospital.
  • Other administrative duties in support of the Clinical Epidemiology Program and the OHRI Administrative Management team may be required. This is an opportunity to work within a very successful research program in a dynamic, fastpaced work environment.

Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):

  • Five (5) years of related administrative experience
  • Community College Secretarial or Office Administration Diploma (medical focus preferred)
  • Excellent judgment and decision making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication, editing and proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, resourceful and able to take initiative
  • Ability to deal with deadlines and to set priorities
  • Highly skilled in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a research/academic environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity within a clinical research environment
  • Working knowledge of Reference Manager, Medline and literature searching software
  • Experience with webbased research interfaces (Common CV, ResearchNet, etc.)
  • Experience with preparing Research Ethics Board submissions

Contract Details:

This is a 2-year full-time contract with the possibility of renewal

Salary:
Min:$28.244/hr - Max:$33.265/hr
