up to 35 hours per week

Rate of Pay:
$19 per hour

Work Location:
At our lakeside campus in Toronto at 235 Queens Quay W.

Duties:

  • Works directly with the development team to assist with the operational logistics for the Summer Music in the Garden concert series, including coordinating donor engagement, backstage access, and preperformance set up.
  • Provides administrative support such as volunteer requests.
  • Attends meetings for events with development staff.
  • Takes minutes and action items as required.
  • Consolidates and distributes interdepartmental documents (marketing materials, invitation lists and more).
  • Assists with onsite development team responsibilities, including of Tip Tap program set up and strike.
  • Generates thank you letters for donors and partners involved in the festival and assists with postproject evaluations.
  • Assist the development team with individual and corporate prospect research, reporting, tracking and data entry as it relates to summer events programming.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature as required.

Requirements:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age
    at the beginning of the employment period.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_ for the duration of the employment.
    Please note that international students are not eligible participants of this program, nor are youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, nor those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Work experience in a corporate or notforprofit environment in a public facing service role is desirable.
  • 13 years in event planning or supporting a development department is highly desirable.
  • Solid research and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high degree of initiative, selfmotivation, and a passion and interest in the arts is essential.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be able to organize/complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
  • A cooperative team work mentality.
  • A keen attention to detail.
  • Current enrollment in or recent graduate from a postsecondary institution in the arts, marketing or a business program is preferred but not essential.
  • Availability to work evening or weekend as needed to meet the requirements of donor events.
