KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Develop, communicate, and implement a holistic governance and control strategy for own specific business function to support the overall business strategy
  • Manage and plan activities requiring alignment across multiple areas
  • Lead the implementation of regulatory change management and provide guidance to the team for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and changes across various business functional areas
  • Lead partnerships with management and teams for specialization area with industry, enterprise, and business awareness
  • Ensure all administration, control, and compliance activities are accurate and complete to meet targets
  • Provide an integrated and aggregated view of all related business risk and control activities across the function
  • Forecast programs, initiatives, and demand, and coordinate prioritization with key stakeholders
  • Deliver functional/business-level communications to ensure consistency, appropriateness, and alignment with business risk strategies
  • Provide direction to enterprise or cross-functional/business projects and participate in designing, testing, and implementing solutions

SHAREHOLDER

  • Work closely with senior management to develop business plans for optimal resource utilization
  • Lead relationships with corporate and control functions to ensure alignment with requirements
  • Assess and escalate key issues to relevant stakeholders and management
  • Identify, mitigate, and report on risk issues as per policy guidance
  • Ensure business operations comply with applicable requirements
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives helping to identify risks and provide guidance
  • Manage oversight process, risk identification, and monitoring of related risks and compliance
  • Facilitate action plans to address performance, risk, and governance issues
  • Protect the organization's interests by managing risks
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control

EMPLOYEE/TEAM

  • Responsible for managing the team, providing leadership and expertise
  • Support the team in staying updated on emerging issues and regulatory requirements
  • Lead a high-performing team, provide feedback, reviews, coaching, and development
  • Set performance objectives, monitor, address, and reward performance
  • Manage employees in compliance with HR policies
  • Encourage team to escalate challenges and facilitate change
  • Recruit to ensure a diverse, qualified workforce
  • Foster a cohesive team environment supporting diverse workforce
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the business area and the company

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Oversee and lead a complex function for an area of significant risk, complexity, or scope
  • Provide people management leadership, set goals, develop staff, and manage performance
  • Manage discipline and strategy for respective areas aligning with best practices
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to practitioners and executives
  • Strategic partner to leadership team, providing industry knowledge and identifying operational efficiencies
  • Operational team direction setting and collaboration for common goals
  • Focus on longer-range planning for functional area
  • Reports to an executive

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Deep industry and business knowledge with expertise in risk and control functions
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
