Learning Specialist.

Our learning specialist will be responsible for coordinating all required training offerings and various learning events at a national scale.

While working in close collaboration with other members of the Employee Experience team (remote team based in Ontario and Québec), this person will plan and coordinate the various live and virtual learning events, as well as asynchronous (online) training taking place, all the while ensuring alignment with business needs and managing effective communications to field HR and operations.


This position offers a rich variety of work including internal communications, event planning and logistics, reporting, training & presentation design, and working with a variety of learning and collaboration technologies.

Furthermore, the continually evolving responsibilities of this department also allow team members to grow and to continue developing their skills and experience.

This position is perfect for someone seeking to acquire experience and grow their career in the HR and/or training fields.

The incumbent will be based out of our Burlington or Montreal offices (hybrid work policy).

Job Description:

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Online learning: Plan and host online learning events which will include promoting upcoming webinars, managing registrations, supporting trainers with the hosting and production of the sessions utilizing web conferencing technologies and establishing robust tracking and reminder strategies to ensure completion as needed. The incumbent will be expected to leverage a variety of media and technologies to support our training activities and to assist the department in building and maintaining online learning content and communities through social media and other social collaboration tools.
  • Administration of our Learning Management platforms for basic tasks such as creating classes, managing registrations, tracking attendance, making small updates to existing content and pulling various reports. The learning specialist may also have the opportunity to collaborate on projects that may include content creation and design, based on their skills and interests.
  • Classroom learning: Plan and organize classroom events' logistics which will include booking venues, scheduling trainers, managing costs, catering, materials & supplies, invitations, reminders and course evaluations. Support with meeting logistics for other HR events and learning events.
  • Offer onboarding training and facilitation support as needed.
  • Office Management Support: Occasional administrative support and back up for reception at our HQ office. Assist as support on meeting coordination, catering/requests, answering phones etc.
  • Educate, communicate and develop rapport with internal customers and promote partnership by seeking feedback and responding to client requests.

Qualifications:

  • University or collegiate degree in administration, human resources, communications, or a related field.
  • Very strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient use of a wide variety of technologies
  • Good presentation/training skills
  • Values and enjoys serving Clients
  • Drive and Dependability
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Bilingual (English and French) will be considered an important asset
  • Prior experience or qualifications related to adult learning, training or facilitation would be an asset.
  • Occasional travel required
