Craigwood Children, Youth & Family Services is seeking an exceptional Clinician / MSW Social Worker to join our multi-disciplinary team dedicated to improving the mental health of children, youth and families in the London-Middlesex area.

Our programs are committed to an approach that is strength-focused, family based, community oriented, and highly flexible and responsive to client needs.


Craigwood Children, Youth & Family Services provides its treatment programs in a number of locations including client homes, community locations including mental health agencies and within Out-of-Home programs.

You will provide assessment and treatment interventions with individual, groups and families, and provide clinical consultation and training/development opportunities for your colleagues.

You are knowledgeable in Evidence Informed treatment interventions in Children's Mental Health as well as applicable legislation. In addition to assessment skills, you possess strong collaborative, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant from university with recognized standing
  • Registration in good standing with professional college, ex. OCSWSSW or CRPO with the ability to provide autonomous psychotherapy services
  • 3 to 5 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and their families.
  • The capacity to develop and demonstrate professional leadership, individually and collectively through promoting social work purposes, knowledge, practices, advancing clinical practice, educating others, engaging in research, using innovation and being active in your professional networks and bodies.
  • The flexibility to work mostly daytime hours with some evening hours built into a rotating schedule
  • A valid driver's licence, your own vehicle and adequate liability insurance
  • Current First Aid/CPR prior to commencing employment

Responsibilities

  • Conducting and completing assessments and interventions based on the theory of crisis management including rapid response, risk assessment, deescalation, stabilization, and referral;
  • Provide skilled assessment, formulation and therapy services to children, youth and their families / caregivers by employing a variety of systemic and evidencebased and informed treatment approaches (including Brief Narrative Therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, DBT and trauma informed frameworks) to enhance individual and family functioning;
  • Develop, implement and regularly evaluate treatment plans according to individual client and family/caregiver needs, goals, strengths and cultural values;
  • Maintain a high level of clinical competence, participating in professional/program development, clinical training opportunities and remain current in the knowledge of relevant legislation;
  • Clinical case consultation with multidisciplinary team members to ensure bestpractices in service delivery are being achieved;
  • Maintenance of case records and data for all clients in accordance with Agency policy;
  • In partnership with the individual being served, coordinating, facilitating and linking individuals with urgent needs to immediate resources (i.e. securing food resources, financial assistance, and housing) as required;
  • Assessing, screening, referring and linking individuals to Community Social and Mental Health services as appropriate.
  • Mentorship of MSW Social Work students

Certificates & Training:

  • Preferred qualified approved training in trauma response, psychological first aid and critical incident response (e.g. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Red Cross First Aid Certificate, CPR 'C' and AED
  • Preferred Crisis Intervention Training modified (deescalation techniques)
  • Preferred TAPP-C Certificate
  • Preferred experience with InterRAI tool
  • Familiar with client care information systems; EMHWare (preferred)
  • A satisfactory vulnerable sector police records check and preemployment medical screening is required prior to the commencement of employment
