Exploring the World of STEM Summer Program - Positions for student monitors
Are you looking for an opportunity to share your enthusiasm with STEM curious youth this summer?
Pay:
$18 / hour (approx. 62 hours total), plus an OPUS pass for the month of July
- note: admission fees for activities (such as museums) will also be covered

Program Overview:
For three weeks in July, we will be hosting a group of 40 high school students from Mexico who are curious about different educational and career possibilities in STEM fields.
Each day from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the students will experience a variety of STEM related workshops, labs, and guest speakers.
After 3:00 pm, it is time to break into smaller groups, share daily highlights and discover the local culture and sites with their monitors.
Monitor Responsibilities:
The role of the monitor is an important one. As a monitor you will be assigned a group of approximately 10 students with whom you will meet daily.
Whereas each morning the students are introduced to a new set of presenters, at the end of the day, the monitors provide a consistent thread of connection throughout the program.
One component of the role is as a guide leading your group in local outings and cultural discovery activities.An equally important component of the role is to encourage engagement and connection with what they are learning each day and over the course of their stay with us.
