Position Summary:


This position is responsible for drafting interim and annual consolidated financial statements, ensuring the Company financial statements are in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), completing research for complex accounting matters, implementing accounting changes, developing and monitoring the Company's accounting policies and procedures, and completing certain month-end accounting reconciliations.

This position is also responsible for preparing other key financial reporting documents, including the interim and annual MD&A and certain internal reporting including shareholder reporting and management reporting used to support business planning, forecasting and decision making.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the Company's financial statements and ensuring they are in compliance with IFRS. This includes responsibility for ensuring an efficient process to collect, retain and review all required information from various sources across the Company.
  • Leading the preparation of the MD&A, populating the document with financial results and developing analysis and disclosure related to the Company's financial performance.
  • Preparing the quarterly financial presentation to the Board of Directors and other quarterly meeting materials as required.
  • Assisting with the preparation of and/or review of other quarterly financial documents for completeness and accuracy, including: on a quarterly basis, the news release, conference call script, and investor presentation; and on an annual basis, the Company's Annual Information Form (AIF).
  • Participating in the review of the Company's internal controls that protects the assets of the Company and allows the CEO and CFO to sign quarterly compliance certificates, through continuous review of systems and procedures, including internal audit reports, meeting with internal audit and other means.
  • Taking ownership/administration of Workiva tool used to prepare the Financial Statements, MD&A and other financial reporting documents. Ensures the tool is being leveraged across the organization.
  • Preparing or reviewing various accounting entries and reconciliations, including but not limited to, pension and sharebased compensation accounting.
  • Preparing and monitoring the Company's accounting policies and procedures, which involves interacting with various individuals across the organization to understand the business and how items should be accounted for in accordance with IFRS.
  • Supporting other members of the Finance team in various other tasks and roles as required

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance; a professional accounting designation, specifically CPA, CA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Highly technical with an indepth understanding of IFRS for publiclytraded companies.
  • Extensive, experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft office suite.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor.
