Description of Position
The Supervisor, Respite & Leisure Services is responsible for the day-to-day operation of specifically assigned Community Living Mississauga seasonal and recreational supports.
Working under the guidance of a Manager/Director, this position is responsible for ensuring high quality support is being provided while ensuring compliance with all applicable regional and provincial laws.
Description of DutiesTo provide strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and accountability in a team
Collaborate effectively with staff and externally as necessary
Meet the organization's expectations in regard to Quality Assurances
Meet and maintain the organization's expectations related to achieving outcomes for each person supported.
Ensure that support maximizes the potential for independence utilizing natural supports and the use of community networks.
Oversees the day-to-day operation of seasonal programs and recreational initiatives including program evaluation, scheduling activities, site maintenance (where applicable) and staffing
Identify recruitment needs and assist with the hiring of Community Living Support Staff and seasonal staff
Schedule and managing all staff hours of work
Understanding of future directions and how to move the staff group towards it
Management and organizational skills including decision making, problem solving, negotiation, planning, ability to prioritize, etc.
Resolve conflict and build trust
Qualifications:
Academic:
Developmental Services Worker Diploma
Equivalency:
Social Services Worker Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, B.A. in Social Sciences, or B.A. in unrelated area plus 5 years' experience in social services field
Work Experience:
A minimum of 3 years full time relevant work experience at a frontline or supervisory level in a human service organization.
Must Have:
Knowledge of Centre for Quality & Excellence (CQL) values and approach and have the proven ability to analyze and interpret the data expectations into responsive service practices at all sites and programs
Current valid certificates in First Aid/CPR
Valid Ontario Driver's license (Class G) and insurance as well as access to a reliable vehicle
Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Strong written and computer skills
Assets:
Fluent in French (or additional second language)
Non -Violent Crisis Intervention Training
