Overview


The Collections department of WorkSafeBC is looking for one
Collections Assistant Co-op student to join our team to help us strive towards our vision.


The co-op students will assist the Collections department within Assessments in a variety of functions including reconciling prevention penalties and relevant accounts.

This is a four-month temporary opportunity starting in May 2023.

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a
hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and be on-site at a minimum of once per quarter in our Richmond office.

What you'll do

  • Analyze individual delinquent employer accounts, in a customized PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable system.
  • Determine which portion of employer's outstanding debt is statutebarred from collection to ensure compliance with the B.C. Limitation Act.
  • Document individual statutebarred items from the A/R system.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to compile, analyze and tabulate data.

Your background and experience

  • Enrolled in a Business Administration, Finance, or Computer Science related program
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite, including Excel and Word
  • Previous coop or relevant work experience in an office environment is preferred
