National Human Resources Manager to join our team

Reporting directly to the Executive Leadership Team, the National Human Resources Manager will collaborate on developing and expanding our HR Division and work closely with Senior Management on various projects.

This role operates on a full-time, in-office basis from Monday to Friday.

Role Overview:


As the National Human Resources Manager at Blackbird Security, you'll spearhead the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures, oversee the HR department, represent the company in various interdisciplinary projects, and lead and support the evolution of the company culture.

Your mandate includes providing guidance and support to managers across the business on HR-related matters, aligning with company policy and strategy.

The intention for this role is to quickly grow into a position that will oversee additional departments and further job responsibilities.


Responsibilities:

  • Champion the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures: Ensure alignment with organizational goals and legal regulations.
  • Conduct management for onboarding, training and offboarding facilitating smooth transitions for new hires and promoted management.
  • Perform regular audits: Ensure regulatory compliance in business practices.
  • Lead labour relations disputes: Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
  • Communicate with regulatory bodies and lawyers: ensure compliance with employment standards, worksafe regulations, and other legal requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support: Assist managers and employees with HRrelated matters; act as the main point of contact for HR inquiries.
  • Participate in investigations: Address employee complaints, employment/labour standards cases, and internal compliance audits
  • Assist with performance management collaborating with the Executive Leadership Team to set goals, conduct performance reviews, and develop plans.
  • Top performers work with managers to build a talent pipeline and recognize high achievers.
  • Oversee the Human Resources Team and support the Labour Relations Specialist.
  • Coordinate onboarding & offboarding processes: Ensure a smooth transition for employees; collaborate with multiple teams along the employee lifecycle.
  • Participate in total compensation strategies: Contribute to discussions regarding compensation and benefits.
  • Oversee company benefits program and workplace claims.
  • Handle employee queries: Respond promptly and accurately to employee inquiries
  • Stay compliant: Keep uptodate with labor legislation and industry trends to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Analyze HR metrics: Report on HR metrics and contribute to datadriven decisionmaking.
  • Facilitate meetings: Lead and/or take meeting minutes for various management meetings.
  • Advise on strategy and growth: Provide HR perspective to the board on company direction and growth.
  • Oversee HR specialist and administration: Support and oversee HR specialists, ensuring effective support for the organization.
  • Manage occupational first aid projects: Support and coordinate occupational first aid initiatives.
  • Monitor department budgets and approving timesheets for payroll.
  • Identify and mitigate risks: Identify potential company risks and create plans to mitigate them.
  • Implement new HR policies: Lead the implementation of new HR policies and procedures
  • Handle employee communications: Respond to employee inquiries and issues promptly and effectively.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 58 years' experience as a HR Manager, HR Specialist or similar HR roles.
  • 24 years of experience overseeing and managing teams.
  • Indepth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Fluent English written and spoken skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Detailoriented with excellent organizational and timemanagement abilities.
  • Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
