The successful applicant will be part of the Pediatric Neurology Research Program at Children's Hospital- LHSC. We are looking for a Research Associate with experience in clinical trials. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to; phlebotomy, drug administration and performing clinical care of research participants in accordance with research study protocols, sample collection, study planning, data collection and coordinating the projects within the Pediatric Neurology Research Program. The position will include Research Ethics Board and Health Canada submissions, regulatory compliance and correspondence, as well as maintenance of essential study documents and study files. The applicant will be responsible for the overall conduct of their research projects including participant visits and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Rate of Pay:
To commensurate with experience
Hours of Work:
Up to 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 1 year, with possiblity of extension
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a regulated health profession
- Experience in clinical research
- Experience with Research Ethic Board submission and correspondence, both local and central an asset
- GCP and IATA training an asset
- Phlebotomy experience/certification
- Current skills in venepuncture and IV starts
- Experience with biological sample processing an asset
- A working understanding of Western and Lawson Research processes
- Experience with REDCap, EDC and IWRS preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Detailoriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient time management skills, ability to meet tight deadlines
- Responsible and selfmotivated with the ability to take initiative in an environment with limited supervision
- Strong work ethic
- Available to work a flexible schedule
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Working knowledge or prior experience in Human Research Ethics, Tricouncil policy, Good Clinical Practices, Health Canada and FDA regulations an asset
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience with manuscript preparation an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
