Team Lead, Vendor Management is responsible primarily for procurement and vendor management functions for technology and vendors within Questrade, and provide ancillary support for business unit procurement and vendor management functions.

He or she will primarily be responsible for a combination of vendor contract, performance relationship and risk management.

He or she owns and must understand contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure effective delivery of committed goods and services.

This role is a hands-on leadership position, reporting directly to the Director, Project Operations and Vendor Management.
What's it like working as a Team Lead, Vendor Management at Questrade?
The Team Lead, Vendor Management will typically be responsible for

  • Delivering bestinclass technology products and services with the right balance of cost control, risk mitigation and speed
  • Leading the negotiation strategy for small, medium, large and complex contracts
  • Advising and coaching as they lead strategic and tactical efforts
  • Developing a highperformance functioning unit responsible for supporting all technology supplier and procurementrelated functions
  • Driving the technology procurement acquisition strategy
  • Establishing technology procurement processes and procedures that balance cost, risk and speed
  • Establishing metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the technology procurement team
  • Ensuring continuous technology procurement process improvement


The Team Lead must also be an effective change agent, playing the role of the educator while directing the acquisition activities of IT and the business in a proactive and strategic way.

The skills to influence and drive change, combined with the drive to deliver results per the goals set, will enable this individual to support the rapid evolution of digital business.

Are YOU our next Team Lead, Vendor Management? You are if

  • You have a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field is required
  • You have 5+ years in technology procurement, with at least four to five years as a technology procurement or vendor manager.
  • You have other functional experience, particularly in IT, is highly desirable and beneficial
  • You have a demonstrated ability to achieve superior results from leading the technology procurement function team.
  • You have developed an effective technology procurement strategy that had a high impact in a similar capacity.
  • Having legal experience, with a background in technology contracts, is an advantage.
  • You have 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • You have proven experience in successfully leading a team in the management of vendors/third parties, including, but not limited to, policies, performance, vendor risk, relationships, contracts (including negotiations), and issue and dispute resolution
  • You have current knowledge of the global technology products and services market and its trends
  • You have familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry requirements
  • You have working knowledge of contract management and negotiation
  • You have understanding of the entire vendor life cycle (sourcing, procurement, vendor management), and how internal roles interact and operate throughout the duration of vendor engagements
  • You have a solid grasp of financial concepts, such as depreciation schedules, dollar costing and total cost of ownership
