Cook - Temporary Contract

Something Special Children's Centre (SSCC) is a not-for-profit community daycare located in an historic building in the centre of downtown Kingston.
In operation for over 30 years, our team takes pride in providing exceptional care and a nurturing environment for our 65 infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and serving families within our diverse and supportive local community.
We are looking to fill a temporary contract for our cook positionDuties include:
Prepares, cooks and serves food in accordance with menus using established recipes. Prepares and cuts fruits and vegetables. Delivers meals to classrooms at set times during the day. Ensure that kitchen cleanliness is maintained and Public Health regulations followed. Provide alternative options for children with dietary restrictions. Orders food for the upcoming week. Training will be provided.
Hours of the position are 7:30-4:30; Monday through Friday with a 15 minute paid break and an hour unpaid lunch break.
We would consider making part time hours available if a qualified individual did not have full time availability (either part days Monday through Friday or full days 2-3 days per week).
Qualifications:
First aid and CPR level C; Vulnerable sector check required.
Cooking experience an asset but not required, as we will train on site.
Additional Requirements:
Food Handler's certificate
