TEMPORARY FULL TIME 12 MONTH POSITION
(Effective Immediately, until January 2024)

Salary $ 62,959


Reporting to the Occupational H&S Supervisor, the Human Resources Officer - Occupational Health & Safety is an effective member of the Human Resources Team, providing support in the areas of Occupational H&S.

The emphasis of the work will involve maintaining excellent records, timely and accurate claims reporting and supporting staff and management with regards to WSIB and Occupational Health & Safety matters ensuring the protection of personal information and confidentiality.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant postsecondary education in the areas of Occupational Health & Safety and/or Human Resources.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a related role within a unionized environment.
  • Excellent understanding of WSIB and OH&S legislation, regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Board policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Experience using Parklane and HRIS systems (such as Smart Find Express, Crystal Reports) are an asset
  • Proven experience taking comprehensive meeting minutes
  • Demonstrated professional ethic and sensitivity to the confidential nature of the position
  • A strong commitment to service and attention to detail.
