As a Disaster Recovery Coordinator, within our Disaster Recovery Management team, your mission is to prepare CAE for an IT disaster.
You are responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, tracking, analysing, and reporting on the necessary preparations for CAE to respond to, recover from, and restore from an IT disaster effectively and efficiently, according to CAE's high-quality standards.
Your Role & Main Responsibilities
Assist in defining the DR Standards, processes, and procedures
- Provide input in the design, implementation, continuous improvement of CAE's enterprisewide IT Disaster Recovery Management (DRM) program, including policies, maturity models, methodologies, sourcing strategies, plans, metrics, and scorecards for all components of the program.
- Take daytoday direction from senior members and Manager of the disaster recovery management team.
- Guide teams on DR requirements, such as DR plans and DR tests, as defined in the IT Disaster Recovery Policy
- Coordinate business unit staff and key IT staff members for the planning and conducting of DR tests and Exercises
- Compile and follow up on identified risks and issues ensure actions needed to improve recovery response in the IT organization are implemented.
- Create program update communications to internal management (the board of directors, the audit committee, the business continuity management steering committee, and business unit management) regarding compliance to the IT Disaster Recovery Policy, identified risks and issues and any associated action plans.
- Train all DR stakeholders on the DR Framework, the Master DR Plan and their roles and responsibilities
- Review solution designs of current, planned, and new initiatives and communicate resilience and IT DRM requirements and objectives associated with the current IT infrastructure environment, with appropriate technology groups, resulting in recommendations to enable timely, effective decisions regarding IT infrastructure disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Integrate DR processes in Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration and Project Management, Business Continuity BIA and Crisis Communications processes
- Participate in the assessment of a potential disruption in service to help the IT DRM leader determine if, and when to declare a disaster.
- Assist with event impact assessment and disaster declaration activities, as required.
- Assist the Incident Management Team to coordinate the execution of the disaster recovery plan(s) when a business or IT disruption occurs.
- Due to the nature of disaster recovery, the disaster recovery analyst must be prepared to be on call at any time and may also be periodically expected to work offhours to support test activity.

Your Qualifications
- Previous working experience as a DR/IT Coordinator for at least 5 years
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar relevant field an asset
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) designation an asset
- Outstanding communication, presentation, reporting, and coordination skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Sharp analytical and problemsolving skills
- Able to work independently
