From our headquarters in Richmond Hill, Ontario, we serve a wide array of customers, including industrial bakeries, major food service distributors, and grocery stores across the region.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive SQF Manager to join our team. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

This is a 4-5 month contract role, full-time (days) Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with SQF standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments (including production, quality assurance, and logistics) to establish and maintain food safety protocols.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance food safety and quality.
  • Train employees on food safety practices and SQF requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SQF standards and industry best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SQF-related inquiries and communications.

Qualifications

  • Certified SQF Practitioner (SQF Level 2) preferred.
  • Proven experience at a supervisory level (3+ years) in food safety and quality assurance within a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading the implementation a full SQF program.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
