**Position**: General Maintenance Associate
**Job Type**:Full Time Temporary (2 months)**
**Schedule**:Monday to Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
**Location**:#153-12757 Vulcan Way, Richmond, B.C.
**Language Requirements**:English
**Purpose**:
Responsible for general maintenance and repairs of the building and grounds (75% of duties). Ensures that the facility is maintained at a high level, snow removal is performed in a timely manner when needed, and cleanliness and safety standards are upheld. The position also does cleaning as required by management.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ability to use power tools to perform job tasks safely and with desired results.
- Ability to service basic mechanical devices and functions within the operations.
- Ability to operate alternate facility PIT (scissor lift, sit-down fork, floor scrubber, etc.) safely and within expectations of site leadership.
- Maintain and repair production equipment as needed.
- Monitor equipment and perform troubleshooting for problems and breakdowns.
- Maintain and repair facilities including basic plumbing and electrical systems.
- Maintain grounds, parking lots, and driveways. Clears snow.
- Provide recommendation to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment.
- Efficiently prioritizes repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule.
- Conduct regular facilities inspections.
- Assist personnel as needed.
- Communicate regularly with personnel to ensure that repairs and maintenance needs are met and coordinated with production schedules.
- Keep management informed of areas activities and of significant concerns. Report major concerns or significant problems.
- Performs duties in accordance with HACCP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures appropriate for location
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
**Knowledge**:
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Specialized training for blood borne pathogens, as well as hazardous materials.
**Experience**:
- Experience and training in service contractor based skills necessary to perform general building upkeep.
- 1-2 years general maintenance experience
**Skills & Abilities**:
- Ability to use power tools
- General repair knowledge
