Position Summary


The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs seeks to provide First Nations youth _(up to the age of 30)_ a mentorship program opportunity through the First Nations and Inuit Youth Employment Strategy.

Under the direction of the Special Projects Coordinator, the Pathfinders will conduct research and perform outreach to First Nations in Manitoba.


Key Responsibilities

  • Research funding opportunities for First Nations and Youth in Manitoba
  • Become familiar with all Government of Canada programs that are linked to COVID19 and emergency situations and emergency response;
  • Assist First Nations clients in accessing Federal Government programs they may be entitled to;
  • Prepare reports and draft letters as requested by the Special Projects Coordinator;
  • Maintain physical and electronic office records;
  • Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Post-Secondary Education is an asset;
  • Knowledge of First Nations culture, history, and issues;
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, organizational and planning skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Possess effective presentation skills; public speaking, editing and conducting presentations;
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision;
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and databases;
  • Adhere to AMC policies and procedures; maintain positive attendance and presentation;
  • Possess a valid Class 5F Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Work flexible hours, and travel upon request.
