The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) is a national not-for-profit organization and the principal body for physical activity, health and fitness research and personal training in Canada.

To champion excellence in the application, certification and advancement of evidence-informed exercise science research and practice.
The health, fitness and athletic performance of all Canadians is optimized through the science of exercise.

Our 5,500 professional clinical members, academics and 1,500 certification candidates qualifying through the CSEP Professional Standards Program have extensive educational training and experience and play an important role in improving health outcomes for Canadians.

We are looking for a creative, collaborative, team oriented, and strategic thinking professional to educate and promote the science of exercise physiology to our members and other stakeholders.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Communications and Events, you will develop strategic plans to support key initiatives, such as the promotion of registrations for CSEP's various events.

Using consistent organizational content and branding, and compelling messaging, you will also lead the implementation and execution of initiatives for the organization, including web/digital, social media and newsletter-based campaigns.

These include communications and marketing tactics to a variety of target audiences through traditional and digital technologies, including:

Monitors key performance indicators to ensure performance optimization.

Social Media:
Plan, develop content and manage CSEP's channels to ensure consistent, engaging and compelling content for internal and external audiences;
Create graphics to accompany various social media posts; Provide monthly reports using key indicators to monitor performance.

Digital media:
~ Develop a variety of graphics and digital media to support CSEP marketing and promotional efforts.

Monitors and maintains a high standard of quality, relevance, timeliness, and consistency for corporate messaging and communications. Drafts basic communications and edits content for clarity. Draft/proof letters and other communications on behalf of Management;
Demonstrates exceptional professionalism among colleagues, members and volunteers; Supports CSEP special projects, as required.
Education in marketing and/or communications;
~3-5 years progressive work experience in a marketing and communications position;
~ Strong organization skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and efficiently manage time and multiple tasks;
~ Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Suite, Zoom and Google platforms;
~ Strong proficiency using graphic design tools such as Canva and MailChimp, CSEP's primary email marketing platform. SurveyMonkey experience is considered an asset;
~ Understanding of website content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, digital communication platforms, and popular social media apps;
~ Superior communications skills, both orally and in writing; Functional bilingualism in English / French is required.

This is a hybrid position with occasional in-person work based at our Ottawa office. While very infrequent, occasional evening work may also be required when assisting with CSEP events.
