Opportunity

MacEwan University invites applicants for a full-time continuing International Recruitment Specialist position with our MacEwan International Department.

As an International Recruitment Specialist, you will support the Manager of International Recruitment in achieving MacEwan University's international student enrolment targets.

You will liaise with high school counsellors, educational agencies, Canadian high commissions, and other external stakeholders and advise prospective students and their families in recruitment efforts.

You will plan and participate in events and travel internationally as required by the position.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruit international students through various channels, including activities such as webinars, high school visits, education fairs and agent/guidance counsellor events virtually from Canada or abroad.
  • Advise and support prospective international students, families, and agencies through the admission process in virtual appointments.
  • Collaborate with the team to manage student leads and communications.
  • Develop and carry out plans for recruitment events and associated travel for participation within assigned budgets: arranging meetings, materials, additional event coordination, training, international and domestic travel and accommodation, etc.
  • Provide detailed event/trip reports and analysis of efforts in assigned markets, including key reporting components, to the Manager by biannual deadlines.
  • Contribute to developing strategic and annual recruitment plans to achieve international enrolment targets in alignment with university goals.
  • Participate in research to determine market viability based on recruitment trends, economic projections, student interest, curriculum alignment, government support, permit approval rates, diaspora links, agent network performance, etc.
  • Contribute to the content, updates, and translations of marketing materials to ensure content is current and accessible.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with nonnative English speakers from diverse backgrounds through oral and written mediums

  • Demonstrated ability in event planning, implementation, and public speaking
  • Intermediate level computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and queries
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze, and communicate data and statistics
  • Highly organized with excellent timemanagement and event/project management skills
  • High level of professionalism in all interactions
  • Strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Digital communication platform competencies to navigate and present (Webex, Zoom, gotoWebinar, etc.)
  • Experience with aspects of social media (including Facebook, Twitter, Whats App, Weibo, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A baccalaureate degree
  • A minimum of a year of advising or experience in delivering information to students, preferably at a postsecondary institution with degree programming
