This Opportunity:


We are currently looking to fill
Part Time Day 7:00am-3:00pm and Evening 3:00pm -11:00pm shift for Personal Care Attendant roles known internally as Support Service Attendant.


Flexible schedule including overnight shift, mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, various hours per week.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Assists clients in their own homes with nonmedical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:
  • Personal care
  • Lifts and Transfers
  • Rising/retiring
  • Bowel and bladder procedures
  • Meal preparation and feeding
  • Range of motion exercises
  • Other light housekeeping duties
  • Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains client and staff health and safety.
March of Dimes Canada provides staff on site
24-hours per day 7 days per week. The Support Services Attendants will be required to workdays and provide coverage as needed for alternate shifts. Support Services Attendants work a variety of shifts (i.e., weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays) that vary between locations.

Qualifications and experience:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience working with people with physical disabilities, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Client based care
  • Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties
  • Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
