Description

Crisis Response Worker: Safe Beds Program - Relief (12 Hour weekday/weekend shifts)

Posting Closes: May 31, 2024

Salary Range: $38.04 Hourly


The Crisis and Safe Bed Program offers temporary residential support during mental health and addictions crises, aiming to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals in need of crisis stabilization. This program helps divert individuals from emergency services and unnecessary hospitalization, offering voluntary community crisis accommodation and support.


The Crisis Worker role involves providing direct support to individuals in a 24/7 residential setting, including crisis de-escalation, counseling, advocacy, and linkages to community services. They collaborate with community partners to offer effective crisis support, outreach, and program planning.


Responsibilities:

  • Screening and assessing referrals
  • Providing crisis support and counseling
  • Assisting with daily living skills
  • Advocating for and linking clients to community services
  • Completing necessary documentation
  • Conducting inventory and housekeeping tasks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Regulated Health professional preferred
  • At least three years' experience in mental health and addictions support
  • Strong assessment and crisis intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Word and other software
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
