Position Summary

This is a one-year contract position with possibility of extension.

You will be an integral part of our journeys, ensuring that we can continue to provide reliable, accurate and compassionate services to our patients, referring physicians and our employees.

You will be working as part of a team that prides itself on providing precise high quality MRI examinations. You will be expected to work with minimal supervision and direction, which means you will need to be a self-starter and confident in your imaging. We expect you to deliver safe and efficient MRI services while minimizing patient discomfort to the best of your ability.

Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Prepares and performs a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures as set forth by the Radiologists protocol. Responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of all MRI equipment. Monthly QA of all coils with System Check. Responsible for maintaining safety and the general care and cleanliness of the MRI area. Particular attention to MRI safety and infection control. Knowledge of computer system and all office duties. Instructs patients on examination requested. Assist in the instruction of new staff and students as requested. Attention to procedures and department orientation and MRI safety. Maintains quality control in performance of all procedures. Must be able to work in a team environment assisting Radiologist or fellow staff members. Notify supervisor of inadequate inventory, equipment problems or any problems encountered during your shift. Must maintain the utmost in professional confidence of patient information and/or results. Performs other duties as assigned: Participate in company in-services. Keep informed and up to date on current trends and developments.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Comprehensive knowledge of MRI procedures and protocols. Ability to communicate effectively with other staff members and patients. Ability to identify and troubleshoot any equipment problems. Must be able to work rapidly and in stressful situations demonstrating good judgement and decision making.

Qualifications

Must be registered or eligible for registration with the ACMDTT/CAMRT CPR certified annually. Must have knowledge of MRI contrast agents, use, dosage, and contraindications.
