CONDITIONS: - Temporary Fulltime for approximately three (3) months
HOURS: - Approximately 75.0 Biweekly Hours
SHIFTS: - Days
WAGE RANGE: - Scale Minimum Maximum

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting to the HR Manager, the Human Resources Assistantwill provide effective and efficient administrative support and clerical services.
preparing and distributing documents, scheduling and coordinating meetings, managing office supplies, and providing support to other Human Resource personnel/areas as required.
- Coordinate travel arrangements; process expense claims; process course registrations and fees.
- Ensure material required for committees & meetings are identified and provided to the Director, Human Resources.
- Maintaining appropriate lists, manuals, documentation and HR budget tracking.
- Print and collate monthly financial reports.
- Enter and retrieve employee data from the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) as required.
- Assist in the development of reports/presentations including the development of illustrations (graphics) to support concepts.
- Format all reports/presentations using professional report writing standards as guidelines including ensuring the accuracy of spelling, grammar, and other structural elements.
- Demonstrates QCH values: accountability, innovation and respect
REQUIREMENTS:
- Postsecondary degree/diploma in Business Administration or Human Resources Management or a related discipline (a commensurate level of education and experience will be considered)
- Two to five years experience in Human Resources in a unionized environment
- Sound knowledge of Human Resources principles, techniques and related employment legislation to include concepts of attendance management, innocent absenteeism and benefit administration
- A high level of proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and experience using human resources information systems (HRIS)
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and problemsolving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required
- A CHRP designation (or in progress) is considered an asset
