About the Job

As a Junior Data Scientist, You Will

  • Develop models/tools required to achieve business objectives within a Kubenetesbased machine learning platform
  • Analyze and experiment with ML algorithms and models (both statistical and deep learning) to determine viability of solving business challenges
  • Assist in hyperparameter tuning of models for optimal performance
  • Document and explain the results of experiments for relevant stakeholders
  • Assist in gathering and manipulation of data, including verifying/ensuring data quality, and defining preprocessing and feature engineering
  • Collaborate in a fast paced agile development environment
  • Have fun building Skynet to take over humanity. We're joking, of course.
  • Bring your ideas and try new things as part of a researchfocused mindset
  • Perform other duties as assigned

As a Junior Data Scientist, You Have

  • Bachelor's (required) or Master's (asset) degree/equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or similar with practical experience in machine learning development
  • An understanding of data (structured and unstructured), data storage, and data processing
  • Experience performing exploratory data analysis and building machine learning models and algorithms using a variety of machine learning techniques
  • Are comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams
  • A passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
  • Proficiency with a deep learning frameworks (Keras, Tensorfow, Pytorch)
  • Proficiency in Python development and basic ML libraries (numpy, pandas, scikitlearn)
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to explain machine learning concepts and relevant experiments to different stakeholders
  • Experience with transformer models is preferred
  • Experience with data integration and reporting is preferred
  • Experience working with Agile software development methodologies is an asset
  • Experience with large language models is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
