About the role
We are looking for a Business Development Account Manager to join our growing Trade Credit Team


As a
Business Development Account Manager on our Trade Credit Team, your work will have a significant impact on our Commercial Underwriting group and Broker partners.

You will work closely with Management and be responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of Broker relationship strategies.

This position is a full-time permanent opportunity based in our Montreal, Quebec office.

Here are a few ways you will make a difference:

  • Develop extensive product knowledge to provide technical advice, recommendations, and solutions on renewals, new business, and overall risk management.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to help Brokers design and implement growth strategies and incentive programs.
  • Establish internal and external relationships and maintain a network of contacts promoting the Intact Insurance Trade Credit product.
  • Enhance our brand leadership by driving greater awareness of our Trade Credit capabilities.
  • Train and coach Brokers on the Trade Credit product, basic sales techniques, lead generation, and systems.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of our marketplace, industry, and the environment.
  • Optimize distribution by deepening our existing relationships and expanding the reach of our distribution channel.
  • Problem solve and liaise between Brokers and Underwriters, providing creative and timely solutions including sales support and business planning.

What you bring to the table:

  • You are a relationship builder, a connector, and an influencer with the ability to use these traits for business development and growth objectives.
  • Minimum three (3) years Trade Credit experience and/or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in the field of insurance, credit management, insurance or equivalent sales experience.
  • Strong commercial insurance acumen and the skill to develop a deep understanding of our business quickly.
  • Confidence for telephone and inperson prospecting, negotiating, and dealmaking.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • An engaged selfstarter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • University degree required with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Finance considered an asset. Acceptable equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) required to conduct business with stakeholders across the country
  • Willingness and ability to be on the move 3 days/week.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
