We are seeking a
Human Resources Coordinator to join our highly collaborative HR team.

This is a chance for an early-in-career HR professional to increase their depth and breadth of HR knowledge and -skills while aligning with our commitment to a diverse and inclusive organization.

Reporting to the Sr.

HR Business Partner, but working closely with various team members, the HR Coordinator will have a broad-based role with exposure to employee relations, recruitment, and HR team effectiveness and administration.

Your responsibilities include

  • Employee Relations.
With a focus on policy interpretation and issue resolution, you will:

  • Respond to, and escalate where needed, employee inquiries, ensuring appropriate documentation, followup, responsiveness, and thorough communication.
  • Play a key role in enhancing our employee experience by having an active role in one or more employee committees and working groups.
  • Maintain knowledge of HR policies and federal employment legislation and update policies and procedures.
  • Recruitment
  • Coordinate onboarding and successful transition of new hires by issuing employment offers and managing the employee orientation program.
  • Conduct and initiate new hire and exit surveys/interviews, as well as report on findings.
  • HR Administration
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the department by maintaining HR records.
  • Assist with maintenance and administration of various HR systems (i.e., Ceridian Dayforce) and processes.
  • Prepare and process documentation relating to transfer/promotion, contract extensions, status change and pay changes.
  • Oversee employee absences and work with internal and external partners to manage outcomes (e.g., short/long term disability, family leaves)
  • Reporting and Metrics leverage HR systems to retrieve data, review for accuracy, and produce key metrics.
  • Compensation
  • Compile and organize data for participation in salary surveys.
  • Respond to parliamentary questions/requests in a timely manner.
  • Payroll
  • Act as a back up to the fulltime Senior Payroll & Benefits Associate which includes processing semimonthly payroll in multiple provincial jurisdictions.
  • HR Best Practices
  • Participate in projects including surveys, research, process mapping, and the development of initiatives, programs, and policies.
The ideal profile

  • A diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business or related.
  • 23 years postgrad experience in HR administration and coordination, ideally with handson exposure to data management.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to work with any level of internal clients. Fluency in French is an asset.
  • Experience with MS Office with intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience working with an HRIS system (preferably Ceridian Dayforce) and/or payroll experience is an asset.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • A natural collaborator who is happy to jump in where needed and offer new perspectives.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for change, prioritize effectively, pay attention to the details and lead initiatives to timely completion.
