We are currently hiring for the position of:

PEOPLE & CULTURE INTERN


Assists the People & Culture department with general administrative duties and support the People & Culture team for the 2023 festival and strategic plan.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shall include but not be limited to:_
  • Provide operation support (e.g. Contracts and offer letters, onboarding prep, meeting set up, event set up, reference checks, checking HR mailbox ext.)
  • Act as a backup for check ins/orientations, HR representative for interviews
  • Assist with the 2023 job fair
  • Administrator for HR/software systems (e.g., ADP, ATS, NetSuite)
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and programs
  • Prepare and distribute companywide staff announcements and other HRrelated correspondence
  • Track, manage, and compile data for award submissions and coordinate workplace surveys
  • Provide regular reporting and recommendations on talent activities and initiatives
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Provide support for team member absences
  • Keep abreast of HR best practices and legislative requirements
  • Provide project support to department management as required

RATE OF PAY:

- $15.50/Hourly

CONTRACT DATES:

  • July 3, 2023September 2,2023 possibility for extension

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some education in HR or related field, Minimal experience in an office setting
- asset if that experience is within HR
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and customer focus, to service staff and provide an excellent employee experience
  • Resourceful and able to work well independently and in a small team environment
  • Judgment is required to identify and escalate sensitive/difficult situations
  • Basic knowledge of HR best practices and provincial legislation in order to provide sound HR support.
  • Superior administrative skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
  • High computer proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with ADP, NetSuite or other databases is an asset
  • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
