With headquarters in the heart of Toronto, Canada, the Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency is a dynamic music licensing agency representing music copyright owners.
Our clients are music publishers and self-published songwriters who own the rights to the vast majority of songs recorded, sold, streamed and broadcast in Canada.
Our team works diligently on behalf of our clients to negotiate licensing agreements, collect royalties from our licensees (Apple, Spotify, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, Tik Tok, radio stations, major and independent record labels, and others) and to distribute those royalties.
Established in 1975 and having contributed to many transformative moments in the music landscape since then, CMRRA are the market leaders in Canada for physical and digital mechanical licensing.
We've recently launched new international partnerships to collect digital mechanical royalties from the US and from numerous territories outside of North America too.
Our core mandate is ensuring that our clients get paid efficiently and on time for the use of their music.

Position Scope:
The People & Culture Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of a range of human resources and office administrative functions.
The People & Culture Coordinator will also provide support, as needed, in the areas of recruitment, policies and procedures, training, and employee communications and support.
They are committed to confidentiality, equity, and providing employee and administrative support which in turns ensures that CMRRA employees can continue to provide exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources (approximately 75% of time)
_Primary Responsibilities_

Payroll
- Responsible for preparing and processing biweekly payroll (currently using UKG), including working with timesheets, processing changes to earnings, deductions and benefits, Record of Employment (ROE) administration, and ensuring that payroll system records are accurately recorded and crosschecked, with oversight from Sr. Director, People & Culture.

Record Keeping
- Ensures all employee personnel records are accurately entered and maintained in Human Resources Information System (HRIS) (currently using UKG) in a timely manner, and confidentiality is protected. Makes certain that records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures. Contributes to the systems, organization, and maintenance of all department files (digital and hard copy).

Benefits Administration
- Completes daytoday benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, changes, answering basic employee questions, and reconciling monthly invoices. Provides support to annual benefits renewal and open enrollment process, as appropriate, escalates issues to Sr. Director, People & Culture, and drafts/sends communications to staff.

Employee Onboarding
- Facilitates new hire processing, including but not limited to collecting and tracking receipt of new hire paperwork, coordinating process w/ managers and helping with scheduling, and enrolling employees in payroll and benefits systems as appropriate.

- Member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and optional member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
