Duties and Responsabilities

Under the supervision of the Exhibitions Manager, the person in the position of Exhibitions Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and logístical support to the Exhibitions Manager and project managers.

They also assist in various stages of exhibition realization while adhering to deadlines and current eco-friendly practices.

Main Tasks

  • Participate in monitoring all stages of exhibition production and collaborate in different phases of design and production, including script development, scenography, graphic design, proofreading, and fabrication;
  • Contribute to the drafting of agreements with artists and service providers;
  • Conduct research for visual and audiovisual materials and ensure the clearance of rights;
  • Prepare necessary documents for borrowing objects and images;
  • Enter data into The Museum System (TMS) database;
  • Prepare correspondence with external stakeholders involved in exhibition projects;
  • Process requests for special permits;
  • Monitor expense reimbursements and supplier payments;
  • Organize the archiving of files;
  • Create PowerPoint presentations;
  • Plan, organize meetings, and draft reports.

Qualifications and Profile Required

  • University degree in museology, art history, history, or a related field;
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in exhibition design and development;
  • Excellent knowledge of the French language and good proficiency in spoken and written English;
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Teams software suite, and knowledge of TMS is an asset;
  • Strong organizational, planning, and priority management skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams;
  • Curiosity, proactivity, and ability to propose creative solutions;
  • Autonomy, diplomacy, and discretion;
  • Commitment to ecofriendly practices;
  • Genuine interest in the cultural and tourist sector in general.
