TMX Group is hiring an Employee Communications & Experience Student Intern for Summer 2024 Reporting to the team manager in Human Resources, this person will be responsible for helping to support the execution of employee communications, events, wellness and recognition initiatives to drive employee engagement in a hybrid workplace.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the execution of internal communication plans that promote the TMX Employee Value Proposition, support the company's strategy, and drive employee engagement.
- Develop, write and build content for the CMSbased intranet and other digital forums such as internal digital screens. Ensure the content is uptodate, dynamic with visuals, and user friendly based on site metrics.
- Work with the team to help coordinate companywide employee engagement events (inperson and virtual) such as themed socials and wellness events.
- Coordinate logistics (invites, meeting requests, slide decks, etc.) around employee communication forums such as all employee meetings and other HRoffered sessions.
- Coordinate special employee gifts and prizing for employee contests across global offices.
- Liaise with Marketing to build dynamic imagery to support our channels (digital assets and any printed needs). This includes briefing, editing and reviewing all assets for the approval process.
- Comanage the employee editorial content calendar.
- Assist in the research of creative ideas and content for employee events, the virtual Watercooler, charity, and wellness and recognition programs.
- Provide support for the charitable giving program and coordinate follow ups on action items.
- Assist with the coordination and development of digital assets, videos, subtitles, infographics, slide decks, distributions lists etc.
- Coordinate payments and ensure budget spreadsheets are updated accordingly.
Must haves:
- Pursuing a postsecondary degree in Communications, PR, or Journalism
- Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of good design principles and strong aesthetic.
- Ability to build relationships across the team in a hybrid environment
- Highly serviceoriented with outstanding organizational and follow up skills
- Adaptable and comfortable with change
- Strong sense of judgment to manage conflicting priorities
- Digitally savvy & creative
- Strong attention to detail
Nice to haves:
- Basic HTML knowledge, and an understanding of web accessibility
- Proficient in CANVA or Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
- Bilingualism in French
- Proficient in Google Workspace (slides, sheets, docs)
- Knowledge of Canadian Press (CP) style
