As a Working Capital Manager, a typical day might include:

  • Analyzing collections processes, centralizing, identifying, and implementing improvements
  • Collecting on outstanding invoices in accordance with set procedures, standards, and performance metrics
  • Assisting with weekly cash flow forecast
  • Establishing and maintaining procedures for monitoring both receivables and payable remittances to comply with contractual obligations
  • Ensuring compliance with laws related to provincial and federal debt collection and set up, tracking, and monitoring of special payment arrangements
  • Liaising with the Accounting team on various programs, bordereaux, and other Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable reconciliations
  • Ensuring timely and accurate receipt of Premium Financing
  • Monitoring Accounts Receivable and recommends write offs as needed
  • In collaboration with the Senior Billing Specialist, establishing and maintaining standard processes for the delivery of reminder statements and cancellation notice issuance
  • Handling routine internal and external client inquiries and concerns in a timely manner and manages the nonpayment process
  • Assisting with internal and external reviews/audits and other compliance reporting requirements
  • Supporting the Billing Manager in administering the department score card with a view to continuous improvement
  • Working with the Billing Manager to create and develop the Collections Team and its processes/procedures/metrics
  • Acting as liaison between direct reports, management, and internal/external stake holders as issues arise requiring attention
  • Performing staff performance evaluations and makes recommendations as required
  • Collaborating with department managers to oversee the development of workflow systems designed to effectively and efficiently manage Collections Team workload

Must Haves:

  • Minimum 5 years' collections experience in a fastpaced corporate administrative/accounting role
  • Post-Secondary education, preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational & timemanagement skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple files and deadlines
  • Superior oral and written communication skills

  • Insurance industry experience an asset
  • Previous work experience with an Insurer or Broker
  • Experience using Epic or other broker management systems an asset
