Role Mandate:


This is a Business Consultant role leading the development and deployment of innovation platform and processes, as well as sustaining the culture of innovation for programs and initiatives.

You may act as a business consultant, a business analyst, and/or a project manager based on the project or initiative.

You will play an important role building exceptional relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
Liaises with stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities and, recommends solutions to enable the achievement of organizational innovation goals. Builds exceptional relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders. Analyzes data and creates documents and plans in service of informing, advising, or updating stakeholders.

Ensures the requirements map to a real business need, are approved by all relevant stakeholders, and meet essential quality standards.

Participates in reviews or inspections, in collaboration with the project team, to ensure the quality of work products

  • Lead the deployment of an enterprise collaboration platform. Report and track progress.
  • Act as the liaison between BMO teams and vendors, on business requirements, platform configuration and coordination of business activities.
  • Develop innovation processes, tools, and communication materials, lead a community of practice to sustain the culture of innovation.
  • Facilitate discussions and follows a structured approach to plan, elicit, analyze, document, communicate and management requirements with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with business partners to plan and deploy innovation platform and processes. Gather and validate requirements, support business onboarding of the platform and adoption of the processes and tools.
  • Ensure system specifications meet expectations/requirements and negotiates solutions.
  • Create documentation to ensure the supportability of analyses.
  • Act in a project planning and managing capacity
  • Lead the preparation of end user reference materials and prepares enduser training materials
  • Provide analytical support and insights
  • Partner closely with local innovation teams and leadership teams to create cohesion, create an internal innovation ecosystem. Drive towards an inherent innovation model.
  • Liaises with enterprise stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities and, recommends solutions to enable the achievement of organizational goals. Builds exceptional relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen business analysis capability, such as: sharing expertise to promote technical development, mentoring employees, building communities of practice and networks across BMO.
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical and technical support on programs and initiatives assigned
  • Work with broader BMO community to encourage open innovation. Develop and manage programs to facilitate idealization and solutioning.
  • Prepare and delivers project syndication materials and communications
  • Communicate innovation design process and outcomes across the organization, leveraging strong storytelling, influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Manage innovation culture building programs.
  • Monitor and manage iteration and testing of the innovation process, tools and measurements.
  • Able to present and communicate at all levels within IT and across business groups.
  • Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
  • May network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
  • Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
  • Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution.
  • Provides specialized analytical support to senior leaders.
  • Defines business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision making.
  • Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Understands and follows a requirements management plan specific to the project so that activities and milestones of the project team can be measured against the goals of the plan.
  • Ensures system specifications meet expectations/requirements, and negotiates solutions.

  • Maintains existing requirements to ensure that currentstate needs are known.
  • Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
