OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Director of Services of the Care Program, the South Regional Care Program Supervisor will be responsible for leading and supporting the successful delivery of the SCP program.


KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Supervision of SRCP staff, Foster Parents, Support & Respite Workers, including providing coaching, mentorship and ensuring accountability.
  • Liaise with SECFS Alternate Care Department & CFS Units to maintain effective communication.
  • Participate in the Foster Parent recruitment process.
  • Manage placement process:
  • Ensure placement availability is communicated to referring agency.
  • Receive referrals (in depth social history and relevant assessments, review and match with potential Foster Parent, discuss needs and confirm placement suitability and preparedness
  • Coordinate intakes with SECFS worker, SAI Foster Parent and supports.
  • Schedule preplacement visitation when applicable
  • Confirm placement date(s) and communicate details to appropriate departments.
  • Deliver performance evaluations and address any issues resulting from review.
  • Receive complaints and concerns; respond in a timely manner in collaboration with case managers.
  • Participate in Alternative Dispute Resolution process as required.
  • Review, approve and track Incident Reports and Monthly Reports.
  • Ensure the Outcomes, Assessments, Service Plans are current and up to date.
  • Review and authorize reimbursements and claim for Foster Parents, timesheets for support staff,
  • Facilitate monthly meetings to foster a sense of community and connectedness and focus on program objectives.
  • Participate in ongoing program development.
  • Ensure monthly statistics are accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate professional development for House Parents, SRCP Team and Respite Workers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of Bachelor of Social Work with related experience.
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services (CFS) sector and legislation.
  • Possesses a strong knowledge of the Indigenous cultures and issues affecting our children, families, and communities; obtained prior cultural awareness and/or sensitivity training.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of Indigenous perspectives, First Nations culture, and traditional philosophies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fastpaced environment with a high attention to detail.
  • Program facilitation skills and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate in Anishinaabe.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Must have a current satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), and Prior Contact Check as a condition of employment.
