Quality Assurance Specialist SUMMARY**Perform quality inspections and testing procedures on all production and raw materials. Implement and maintain quality control policies while adhering to legislation requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct and document receiving, inprocess and final inspections
  • Report all Non-Conformances using the NCR form, follow up all NCRs with disposition, verification, and root cause analysis and corrective action where required
  • Calibrate measuring instruments
  • Create and maintain quality documents as required for ISO
  • Assist QC Supervisor in the operation of the QAD system
  • Review and approve raw material Mill Certificates for received raw material, preparation of gun material testing requests, where raw material is required to be tested prior to acceptance
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of ISO Quality System
  • Taking notes from QAD meetings
  • Look after QAD department in absence of the QC Supervisor
  • Member of Internal Audit Team, help with preparation and conducting of internal and external audits
  • Search quality records to provide manufacturing and inspection data (raw material mill certificates) when requested
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the Quality Control field or a relevant position or experience
  • Machine shop experience an asset

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Solid knowledge, understanding and experience with ISO Quality Management System
  • Able to work under stressful situations
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Work well with mínimal supervision
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Knowledge and usage of measuring instruments

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to compose routine correspondence with attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate written and verbally in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and quantities (linear, volumetric, or weight) and to read and interpolate applicable data and tables.
