We especially welcome applicants with research interests in the broad area of sedimentary geology and/or stratigraphy in modern and/or ancient sedimentary environments who use a multi-disciplinary approach, including geochemical and field-based analyses.

Anticipated areas of specialization could include carbonate or clastic sedimentology applied to depositional systems analysis, basin analysis, sequence stratigraphy, and/or early Earth ocean-atmosphere evolution.

An ability to collaborate with existing faculty members tectonics, geochemistry and/or sedimentology of critical metal systems are assets.

Qualified applicants must have a Ph.
D. in geology, and a proven record of excellence in research and teaching.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sedimentology and establish an internationally recognized, externally funded research program.

Additional to sedimentology, teaching may include courses in introductory geology, Earth and life evolution, and field school. Other duties include student mentorship and supervision, and professional service for the department, the University, and the community.
