In this new (contract) position funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation grant, the
Wellness

Coordinator will support the Agency's success with the development and implementation of
Wellness Strategy and supports HR programs and initiatives.


Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the
Wellness Coordinator will develop, implement and promote wellness and resiliency initiatives with the goal of improving overall psychological health and wellness staff.

The co-ordinator will also partner with Service Directors to develop wellness initiatives that support foster parents and volunteers.


This position has flexibility to work hybrid with the understanding that some trainings will be delivered in person as required.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the development and implementation of a corporate wellness strategy and initiatives
  • Works in collaboration with Human Resources, the Senior Leadership team and the
Wellness Committee, in implementing wellness initiatives.

  • Evaluates baseline psychological Health of the workplace using Guarding Mind or other related tools
  • Collects and conducts data analysis on an ongoing basis on wellness initiatives and presents the findings as required
  • Expert knowledge of the National Standards for Psychological health and safety (PH&S)
  • Develops diverse initiatives that promote wellness and resiliency
  • Provides Guarding Minds Trainings to staff, foster parents and volunteers
  • Strives to maintain a strong proactive, trusted relationships with all employees.
  • Provides support and coaching to various levels of management and employees on wellness related matters.
  • Responsible for maintaining Wellness database and intranet activities
  • Models behaviours and a commitment to the principles of antioppressive practices and anti
- racism based on justice, fairness, equity, respect of the beliefs and traditions of others.

  • Ensures staff are in compliance with Society Health and Safety policies; the Occupational
Health and Safety Act and its regulations; and WHMIS, and consult with Human ResourcesLeadership concerning non-compliance.

  • Completes mandatory training and participates in ongoing agency training.
  • Complies with Human Rights legislation, agency Health and Safety policies and the Ontario
Health and Safety Act, and regulations.

  • Committed to the Society's mission, vision, values and Catholic identity.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as may required or as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • University degree with relevant work experience
  • Adult education certificate is an asset
  • Experience or knowledge in a similar role
  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Standards on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace
  • Knowledge and expertise in implementing the standards in the workplace
  • Facilitator Certification in The Working Mind is an asset
  • Facilitator Certification in Mental Health First Aid is an asset
  • Experience in, or interest in learning about, Short Term/Long Term Disability and WSIB
  • Strong writing skills including the ability to draft accurate policies and develop presentations and other documents
  • Strong track record of accuracy and attention to detail when developing training content
  • Proactive, analytical and serviceoriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience working with relevant legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, the
Human Rights Code, the Employment Equity Act, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with individuals, groups and external agencies.
  • Certificate in Health and Safety will be considered as an asset.
  • Change management experience will be considered as an asset.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to, and work ethic in leadership and role models behaviours that demonstrates the Mission and Vision of the Catholic Children's Aid Society.
  • Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
  • Knowledge and commitment to antioppressive/antiracist philosophy.
