We are a small family owned company in the process of growing. We are looking for an experienced shipper/receiver to join our small team.

To be considered you must be a smart, competent, team player with leadership skills who is willing and able to learn quickly and problem solve on the fly.

3-5 years experience in shipping receiving would be an asset but not a must, training will be provided

Must be computer literate with good Microsoft Office skills and able to learn to efficiently use other programs as necessary

Must possess sound basic mathematical skills

Must have the ability to competently complete a variety of paperwork including customs documents

Problem solver not problem creator and able to accommodate last minute changes in work-flow

Must be able to lead a small team of general labourers to accomplish tasks required for final preparation and assembly of various products as well as skidding/crating products as per customer requirements

Must be able to schedule and coordinate the incoming and outgoing shipments effectively and efficiently based on priorities of due dates

Must have effective communication skills and be able to coordinate the efforts as a team

Must show initiative and be able to assist with physical work as the job requires as well as be willing to go the extra mile when needed

Duties of a Shipping Coordinator
As we are a small business and have a lean workforce you will be required to perform a variety of duties both in and out of the office on a regular basis including but not limited to;
Directing workers in the greasing, painting and final assembly of various products

Must be comfortable assisting with physical job duties including lifting up to 60 lbs as required

Overseeing the skidding/crating based on customer requirements

Measuring and weighing skids/crates for shipping paperwork

Accurately identifying a variety of products based on order requirements and ensuring all items are correct

Preparing all shipping related documents such as skid sheets, bills of lading, customs documents and ensuring that all required info is accurate

Maintaining tracking logs and database entries

Utilizing Microsoft Office programs and company specific management software as well as others to perform daily duties

Communicating with general labourers for direction of work as well as with other departments for the effective coordination of workflow

Maintaining a clean safe work area in the shipping department as warehouse

Operating a forklift, pump truck for material handling as required

Reviewing quality of finished product prior to skidding/crating to ensure it meets company standards

Ensuring appropriate maintenance is performed on department equipment, coordinating repairs and maintenance with the Foreman and or Production
Manager

Ordering trucks from various carriers and tracking/following up with scheduled shipments as necessary

Other duties as required
