Job Description:


The incumbent would assume the management of the Infrastructure Service Delivery (ISD) such as workstations, mobile devices (phones and tablets), printers, monitors and additional regional services in the ITAS field within Alcoa.


This role supervise team who does the support and management of the different computer assets for the Alcoa sites located in Canada and United States (North America) which includes seven (7) manufacturing locations, three (3) Corporate offices, two (2) remote offices and few curtailed locations.

The NA ISD is made of 25 resources (Alcoans and Contractors) located in Canada and United States.

Major Activities/Key Challenges

The responsibilities for this role include:

  • Coordinate management and administration of Infrastructure Service Delivery (ISD) operations across North America.
  • Provide people management to ISD resources at all locations across North America
  • Provide team leadership in completing, measuring, and improving operational support tasks of the business and manufacturing environment, remote and local support to endusers, and assuring regular execution of standard operational activities for the supported services and locations within the Region.
  • Coordinate support and project activities including to facilitate introduction of changes at different locations & offices.
  • Own source cost budget control and planning for the ISD expenses within North America team and contribute to control and planning of customer passthru costs.
  • Lead the ISD team to execute the computer Asset Lease Refresh to maintain the refresh costs as low as possible.
  • Contribute to ISD strategy and management decisions as part of the NA regional Lead Team
  • Collaborate with corporate teams to develop, implement, evaluate, procure, and/or support business and manufacturing computer systems and information solutions that meet the needs of the customer and add the most value to the company.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer interaction to identify and recommend business and manufacturing computer and business solutions to effectively and efficiently satisfy the data processing and information requirements of the business.
  • Manage the reactionary support and/or preventive maintenance process for the business and manufacturing systems in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provide advice and counsel to the customers of the systems in assigned area(s) of responsibility, and to other location manufacturing, local technical, or ITAS personnel.
  • Develop an indepth understanding of the manufacturing and business processes in area(s) of assignment; participate in, and learn how to perform, the analysis of the customer's processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Manage the Service Level Agreement (SLA) process in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Operate within Alcoa ITAS standards and conventions.
  • Ensure appropriate methodologies, support processes, and procedures are in place, and key system/quality indicators are measured, where appropriate.
  • Comply with all guidelines detailed in the ITAS compliance program (with a specific focus on business partnerships, change control, disaster recovery, and security) for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Operate within an on
- and off-shore model that provides development and/or support solutions in the assigned area(s) of responsibility. The role also includes to act as a "liaison" with the outsourced French Service Desk.
