International Student Counselor

Counselling Support

  • Monitors the progress of international students and provides ongoing support, which may include referring students for professional assistance, when appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure student satisfaction and success
  • Provide support to other administrative departments upon request
  • Offer academic program counselling services and assistance to current and potential students
  • Liaison with the Academic Department to determine the most suitable study plan that will meet the student's needs and goals
  • Address and resolve any student concerns, complaints, and requests
  • Counsel students in order to facilitate their transition to living in Toronto and help adjust to cultural differences
  • Provide ongoing support to students and parents
  • Other duties as assigned by their supervisors.

Job Qualification

  • College diploma or university degree
  • Experience in international student counselling is preferred
  • Fluent in English and Vietnamese
  • Must be proactive and performance driven
  • Knowledge of educational systems and international secondary & postsecondary systems of other countries is an asset
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues and students
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, outlook and google drive

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
