Reporting to the Manager, Partnership Strategy, the incumbent is responsible for the research, development, promotion and evaluation of potential international institutional and/or program partnerships for Georgian College.


Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the international leadership team to Identifying opportunities and initiating a draft business case, including program cohort initiatives, for presentation to relevant partners for their review, feedback and approval to proceed to next step
  • Establishing and performing applicable/appropriate due diligence for potential partnerships including background check, nonaccredited institution, country travel risks/warnings, competition, current and previous partnerships, legal and cultural compatibility, financial assessment, and academic compatibility
  • Identifying potential program/course equivalences, in consultation with the International leadership team, Academic Faculty, and the Registrar's Office, which includes preparing a draft mapping plan to compare potential partnership program/courses to GC program/courses for approval to proceed to next step
  • Preparing/forecasting a draft budget for potential partnership models for review by the Manager
  • Promoting partnership opportunities through various internal events, such as Open House and Orientation
  • Coordinating faculty and staff travel itineraries and other relevant plans for partnership development and/or execution
  • Leading delegation activities for partner institutions, including travel arrangements, insurance, meeting schedules for required participants, and other related activities
  • Seeking out appropriate cultural guidance to aid staff and/or faculty traveling abroad to ensure cultural professionalism is maintained in markets
  • Creating and maintaining cultural guides for all partners to ensure cultural professionalism is understood and maintained for all partnership markets
  • Initiating budget transfers, staffing initiatives, processes scholarship and awards bursaries to student accounts, and followsup on departmental initiatives to assist in related workflow progression.
  • Identifying expiring partner agreements, and in consultation with relevant partners, initiates new contract or terminate contract accordingly
  • Maintaining lists of all international partnerships, including keeping updated contact records and contact management
  • Working with agents, immigration advisors, to aid with student permits and liaise with the Registrar's Office to ensure advance standing and admission requirements and credit transfers are fulfilled
  • Researching grants/bursaries available for partnership student opportunities
  • Facilitating student predeparture and reentry orientation sessions
  • Assisting students with travel plans and/or arrival processes
  • Supporting delegation activities for trade commissions, consulate guests, etc. by organizing meetings (date/locations), arranging transportation to/from college, meal requirements, accommodations, GC mementos, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successfully completed a threeyear postsecondary diploma/degree in business/office administration, law, or a related field
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience with contract management, and partnership relations and development
  • Experience with project management and systems development (processes, digital platforms etc.)
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Basic accounting and budget forecasting experience
  • Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must be detail oriented with a high attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile / analyze information and data
  • Time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Experience working with, and servicing, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
