This role serves as a temporary substitute for a bargaining unit employee. Employment terms are governed by the Support Staff Collective Agreement.

Reporting to the Director of Global Engagement, the selected candidate will provide essential financial and administrative assistance.

Key Responsibilities:


• Delivering financial assistance to the International Department

• Managing budget forecasts for short-term initiatives

• Monitoring departmental accounts payable/receivable invoicing requests and journal entries for budget and departmental transfers

• Reconciling monthly credit card statements and ensuring compliance with college policies and Public Sector Standards for travel expenses

• Collaborating with accounting to administer agent commission calculations and payment processing

• Supporting In-Country Representative expense processing

• Assisting in the preparation of project cost budgets and aligning actual expenses/revenues accordingly

• Conducting analytical financial assessments for budget management, including variances, performance metrics, costs, and other statistical needs

• Addressing financial inquiries and responding to electronic requests for information

• Aiding in the identification of necessary year-end accruals

• Generating ad hoc reports/spreadsheets as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a two-year postsecondary diploma in a relevant field, such as business administration or accounting/financial management

• At least two years of experience in providing accounting/budget support and processing international transactions

• Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, particularly in spreadsheet creation and data manipulation (e.g., formulas, pivot tables)

• Familiarity with financial information/accounting systems (preferably PeopleSoft)

• Experience with student information systems (preferably Banner) is advantageous

• Ability to analyze data to identify and assess financial trends

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and public sector accounting standards is beneficial

• Strong attention to detail and proven ability to maintain accuracy

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capability to manage multiple complex tasks under competing deadlines

• Effective communication skills

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment
