What you'll do

The Merchandising Capability Development team is a center of excellence responsible for collaboratively developing and enhancing merchandising capabilities, including various processes and tools. We are seeking an Associate Manager who will work closely with stakeholders from different departments to address ongoing challenges and implement solutions to improve our work. The Associate Manager will play a key role in redesigning and implementing core merchandising processes and tools across all CTC banners, enabling us to achieve our core objectives by improving efficiency, consistency, and quality.

  • Manage a workstream or key deliverable within the project plan, including scheduling, resource requirements, and risk management
  • Provide direction to the team and support the development of project analysts assigned to the project
  • Conduct interviews with business stakeholders to identify, understand, and document current state practices
  • Facilitate workshops or meetings to identify opportunities for process and tool improvements, create presentation materials, and present findings to large audiences
  • Compile learnings and analysis from workshops into actionable recommendations for future-state processes and tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to assess proposed processes and tools in terms of organizational impact, costs, benefits, risks, dependencies, and critical success factors
  • Participate in the development of detailed user stories (requirements) and acceptance criteria to support IT solution components
  • Develop implementation timelines, identify risks, and create mitigation plans
  • Support Change Management by providing visibility into future state processes and changes
  • Assist in business testing of new systems and resolution of gaps
  • Support the implementation of recommendations, transition the project to a sustaining organization, and provide post-rollout support

What you bring

  • 2-4 years of experience in Merchandising, Supply Chain, or related functions with a comprehensive understanding of key merchandising operations
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and driving projects in an Agile environment, including facilitating sessions
  • Knowledge of process and tool development is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with solid presentation abilities
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at various levels across different functions
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and suggest opportunities for improvement
  • Committed to delivering results through flexibility, responsiveness to shifting priorities, following through on commitments, and proactive collaboration with client groups
  • Thrives in a team environment by contributing to a shared team purpose, celebrating achievements, and maintaining positive working relationships
