Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and dynamic Social Media Coordinator and Content Creator to manage the online presence of Real Sports and e11even restaurants. As the Social Media Coordinator, your main tasks will be to create engaging content, handle online communities, and execute strategic initiatives to enhance brand awareness and interaction on different social media platforms. This position will be based at the restaurants with flexible office hours. To truly capture the essence of our establishments in real time, this role will require presence on evenings and weekends rather than the typical Monday to Friday 9-5 schedule.

Real Sports and e11even are renowned dining spots in Toronto, offering exceptional experiences in food, sports, and entertainment. Real Sports stands as North America's top sports bar, known for its plethora of screens and high-end pub food. On the other hand, e11even is a chic, modern restaurant celebrated for its innovative cuisine and lively ambiance. Both venues, as part of the Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment family, uphold superior hospitality standards to deliver unforgettable experiences.

Reporting to the Digital Content Manager within the Venue Marketing team, the role involves direct collaboration with the Marketing Coordinator of Food & Beverage and the General Managers of Real Sports & e11even. We expect the candidate to deeply integrate into the restaurant operations by attending manager meetings and staying informed about all restaurant activities.

The ideal candidate is updated on the latest digital and social trends and actively engages on popular social media platforms. They should have a good grasp of social media content creation and be able to manage multiple brand platforms efficiently in an organized manner.

Position Type: Freelance

  • Content Creation: Generate creative and captivating content, such as graphics, videos, and written posts, to highlight the unique offerings and events at Real Sports and e11even. Collaborate with internal teams to gather content ideas that align with the brand voice and goals.
  • Social Media Management: Oversee all social media accounts for Real Sports and e11even, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Regularly monitor channels, engage with comments/messages, and maintain a consistent posting schedule for maximum engagement and follower growth.
  • Campaign Execution: Strategize and implement social media campaigns and promotions to support special events, menu launches, and seasonal initiatives. Coordinate with marketing and operations teams for seamless messaging integration across all channels.
  • Community Engagement: Cultivate a sense of community by actively interacting with user-generated content, starting conversations, and responding to feedback. Implement strategies to build brand advocates and enhance customer relationships.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilize social media analytics tools to track performance metrics, analyze trends, and derive insights for continuous optimization. Prepare regular reports to evaluate the impact of social media efforts and guide future strategies.
  • Stay Updated: Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and social media marketing best practices. Propose innovative approaches and growth opportunities to stay competitive.
  • Manage content calendars and scheduled posting using Sprout Social content management tool.
  • Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions for upcoming projects.
  • Collaborate with various groups including Corporate Partnerships, PR, & our Sports Teams to ensure brand consistency and relevant messaging for the target audience.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary degree (Journalism or Marketing preferred).
  • 1-2 years experience in social media/marketing (experience in sports/entertainment/hospitality is a plus).
  • Interest in food & beverage/hospitality content creation.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms like Facebook Business Manager, Twitter, Creator Studio, Sprout Social.
  • Previous experience in restaurants/hospitality is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in creating & publishing content on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube.
  • Interest in exploring new social platform technologies.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse audiences.
  • Multi-varied creative skills with Adobe Photoshop & Creative Suite, Canva or similar tools.
  • Strong organizational and creative direction skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Self-directed and thriving in a collaborative team environment.
